Three Overlooked Strategies in Autism

Some autism therapies have failed to deliver the hoped for or anticipated results. I have observed that families with autistic children or adults do better thinking outside the box and accessing research such as that published by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt and similar autism pioneers.

Parents generally do a good job researching vitamin and mineral deficiencies. However, nutrient status is only one of a number of pieces of the autism puzzle.  Brain inflammation is a hallmark of autism. Here are three important autism strategies relating to brain health that should not be overlooked.

1.Absolute wifi/EMR protection

The brain has a mechanism for cleaning itself of debris - old cells, viral particles, toxic wastes. To do this it uses the glymphatic system, a waste clearance system dependent on the brain’s glial cells. This acts like a fluid drainage system similar to the lymphatic system in the rest of the body. A healthy brain has good lymphatic drainage; a brain injured by toxins and infections does not. At night in deep sleep, the lymphatic system is ten times more active than by day. The brain undergoes a 60% shrinkage to allow greater efficacy of waste removal.

During deep sleep, electrical activity in the brain appears in long, slow waves called delta waves which have a frequency of around 4 Hz cycles per second. If there is a wifi router anywhere in the house, no one in the house will get deep delta sleep and this will contribute towards greater brain inflammation, toxicity and infection. This is because the wifi pulses around 10-12 Hz and the brain likes to imitate the rhythms around it. This phenomenon is called ‘entrainment.’ It is the same with cordless phones and Smart meters. Scientific studies also show that wifi radiation makes infections of all kinds much more aggressive.

Nature environments like forests have healing frequencies of around 1Hz. Cities emit around 200Hz - this may generate a creative buzz in upwardly mobile bright young things but overall, is not conducive to longevity.

To those hi tech addicts who can’t live without Alexa and other similar gadgets, I would say please don’t sacrifice your child’s health for the sake of the wifi!

You can still enjoy your connections with a safer plug-in ethernet connection.

2.Check your child’s tonsils

The tonsils and adenoids constitute a big cluster of lymphatic tissue. As immune organs of elimination, the tonsils are known as the ‘toilet of the body.’ They either eliminate the metabolic crap and stomach acid finishes the job or the wastes get ingested by enzymes and dumped into the subclavian ducts just below the clavicles.

The tonsils are involved in the lymphatic drainage from the brain. If you have chronic tonsillitis or microbes (viruses and bacteria) setting up home in tonsil tissues, this blocks the lymphatic flow and the wastes can’t get beyond the tonsils but get backed up into the brain. As the brain builds up toxins and metabolic wastes, brain perfusion gets less. That means fewer nutrients and oxygen in and fewer toxins out.

Microbes like viruses and bacteria are addicted to neurotransmitters (chemicals in the brain). The best place for microbes to access these is in the large veins and lymph vessels that run on either side of the neck.  Pathogens like Lyme, Epstein Barr Virus, strep, Coxsackievirus and others love to live in these veins. Consequently, the immune system attacks them there, creating inflammation with narrowing (stenosis) of the veins and decreased perfusion of the brain. This is becoming increasingly common.

When tonsil tissues become tired and corrupted, they attract bugs like Bartonella, Strep, Staph and Rickettsia. Unlike healthy tissues, tired, infected tissues don’t send out the correct signals to the immune system and it goes to sleep while the infections persist. Dr. Klinghardt notes that removing chronically infected tonsils in autistic children can have a big healing effect. When you take out the tonsils and bugs, the immune system has a chance of waking up. Gut issues can also improve with the stopping of the flow of toxins from throat to gut.

The successful actions I have seen done (and which I have also done myself) are:

a. Reduce the viral/pathogen load.

b. Tonsil evaluation from infection-literate ENT specialist. Open up the tonsils, if required, with tonsillectomy or tonsil cryotherapy such as that pioneered by paediatrician and ENT specialist Professor Sergei Dorochov.

c. Address the stenosis in the veins with special venous massage cream.

3.Check your child’s bite

In a career that spans 40 years treating autistic children, Dr. Klinghardt has observed that many autistic children have narrow upper dental arches.  With each millimetre of expansion of dental arch, there is a measurable increase in venous drainage from the brain. This is not a cosmetic treatment but a matter of healing the brain. Expansion of the upper dental arch creates beneficial changes inside the liquid spaces of the brain.

Equally important is restoring the vertical height of the back teeth if these have been lost. A Japanese study where the bite of beagle dogs was altered by filing down certain teeth produced severe scoliosis and failure of the nervous system, liver and kidneys. The dogs also displayed weird emotions and some died early. When the bite was restored, 90% of symptoms disappeared. If you can restore a faulty narrow bite and build up equal vertical height on both sides, this has been known to produce significant improvement in autistic children as well as patients with neurological illnesses like Parkinson’s and MS.

Get the right help

You need a dentist who is holistically trained and recognises that dentists also need to be neurologists.

He or she should recognise that anything they do to the mouth and jaws affects the whole body. To explore this branch of holistic dentistry, please look at the IAOMT website (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) to see the difference between Biological dentistry (specialised holistic dentistry) and conventional ‘drill, fill and bill’ dentistry.

Similarly, you need to access the right ENT specialist to safely remove the toxic burden of chronically infected tonsils. It is no good do a half-hearted job and leaving infected tonsil tags in place to continue to reinfect!
