How To Stay Sick: A Guide You Shouldn’t Follow
As we step into a new year, let’s start with some reverse psychology! If your goal is not to thrive in 2025, here are some key ways to ensure that chronic illness sticks around:
*Eat The Standard Western Diet
Fuel your body with ready-made processed meals. It’s much more convenient. Be sure to include the sugary biscuits, cake and dessert and plenty of cups of coffee. Skip the fresh vegetables - your body won’t miss the nutrients at all!
*Have A Yoghurt And Fruit Breakfast
If you’re pressed for time in the mornings, why not settle for a yoghurt and fruit breakfast or dip into the kid’s cereal? It’ll shoot the blood sugar up to get you out of the door, so don’t forget the ‘energy’ bar that will be needed mid-morning.
*Treat Yourself With Chocolate
Keep a stash of chocolate on hand and eat it when you feel the craving. Go on, treat yourself!
*Cheat On Your Diet
‘Just one bite’ of that delicious bread or creme brûlée won’t hurt, will it? It’s organic, so that’s ok isn’t it? There’s nothing else to eat and it’s so difficult to be gluten-free. After, it’s a special occasion!
*Take A Shopping Basket of Supplements
I follow different people on the internet and buy all their products. I have a whole cupboard of supplements at home. The more I take, the better!
*Don’t Make Health A Priority
Healthcare should be free and I’ve got better things to spend my money on - my holidays abroad, a new sofa, an extension perhaps…
*Spray Anything That Moves
Make sure you have the latest chemicals in your home - plug-in air freshener, pesticide for those weeds, bug spray in the house. Don’t forget the spray on deodorant and perfumes.
*Be A Social Drinker
Have that glass of wine, spirits, beer whenever you are out with friends or winding down at the end of the day. It would be ‘unsocial’ not to!
*Leave your Wifi on at Night
It’s too inconvenient to switch it off and besides, if I did that, it would mess up the telly!
*Bathe Your Home in Wifi
Ramp up your use of Wifi boosters, Smart technology, fitbits, gadgets, virtual reality headsets - you’ve got to keep up with technology!
*Sleep Poorly
Stay up late scrolling on your phone or binge-watching shows. Make sure you sleep with your phone next to your head.
*Ignore Your Dental Health
I’m determined to keep my mercury fillings, root canals and titanium implants. I don’t want to know about dental issues.
*Leave Your Health Decisions to the ‘Experts’
Leave your health decisions to the professionals. After all, they ‘know best.’ Let others take responsibility for your health.
*Treat the Symptoms, not The Causes
Mask your symptoms with drugs, don’t bother to look for underlying causes. Don’t be curious about your condition. Don’t worry about getting worse. They’ll always be another drug to handle it.
*Surf The Forums
Take your health advice from internet forums - opinions or fact, who knows, who cares? Go with the flow. If enough people like it, it must be good?
*Ignore Chronic Infections/Conditions
I don’t really understand the big deal about infections, so why bother? There are some conditions that have ‘no cause.’ My doctor told me so.
*Ignore Excess Weight Round The Middle
Nobody’s going to tell me what to eat! It interferes with my freedom of choice as a human being!
*Disconnect With Nature
Stay indoors and isolate yourself. Get all your exercise in the gym instead of fresh air and sunlight in Nature.
*Shun The Sun
Don’t expose your skin to the sun. Block the sunlight with makeup, sunscreen and sunglasses. Bathe in the blue light of computer screens, especially after the sun goes down.
*Don’t Read
Education is for wimps! Focus on getting ripped and acquiring bigger muscles, not expanding your mind!
*Stress Constantly
Worry about everything - your health, your career, your boss, the government, the planet, what’s going to happen next. Watch the news religiously. Don’t take any breaks to unwind or expand spiritually.
*Invalidate Yourself
Constantly put yourself down. Don’t have any confidence in yourself. Put everybody else first. Be easily influenced by others: let others control your life. Know that there is no way to change this.
The key message of this New Year’s blog is that if you do the exact opposite of what is above, you are in grave danger of recovering your health and staying well!
